The incident that led to the 25-year-old woman’s arrest is said to have happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. on a day in late March. According to reports, the woman left the scene of an accident after her vehicle reportedly struck another. A witness reportedly followed her afterward.
Police eventually pulled over a vehicle that matched the description of the one involved in the accident. The officer claims that the woman smelled of alcohol. She allegedly admitted that she had consumed too much alcohol to drive, and the police officer claims to have noticed significant damage to the side of the vehicle she was driving. She was taken into custody following a field sobriety test. A 2-year-old in the back seat of the vehicle was released to a family member.
In addition to being accused of drunk driving, the Virginia woman also faces charges of driving suspended, hit and run, expired registration and child endangerment.
