Lack of cooperation can cause people to get divorced

The process of getting divorced is never simple from an emotional standpoint. This is the common thread among marital dissolutions in Virginia and elsewhere. However, the reasons why people get divorced can vary greatly from one couple to the next. A key divorce catalyst is an unwillingness of both parties to work in tandem with each other.

The reality is, if two spouses grow to dislike each other over time, they naturally will not embrace the idea of working together. Instead, they may quickly demonize the other party and resent him or her. Sadly, this can lead to an unstable marriage.

Part of the reason why some married individuals fall out of love with each other is that one spouse believes that the other party should change to reflect him or her more. For instance, a saver may develop disdain for a spending spouse, or an emotional spouse may become irritated by a predominately intellectual one. If the two parties cannot find middle ground that they are both comfortable with, then they likely have no choice but to divorce.

Chances are that these two individuals may have a hard time resolving issues such as asset division at the negotiation table when they get divorced. In this situation, they must take their issues to divorce trial, where a judge will ultimately decide the outcomes for them. Unfortunately, the outcomes might not necessarily be in alignment with one or both parties' wishes. However, an attorney in Virginia will push for the most personally favorable outcome for his or her client, given the circumstances surrounding the divorce proceeding.
